Today in Whanganui it's a warm Autumn morning , no wind and although our river is still a little stirred up by last weeks rain it is looking still and beautiful right now as the tide meets the downwards flow . So all bodes well so far for the weekend. While our hardy Saturday market stallholders will be ready to cope with any bad weather we are keeping our fingers crossed for another busy market and weekend in Whanganui . With sun preferably please!

Shakespeare in the park...on Thursday 22 February and Friday 23 February, Bason Botanic Gardens will close early at 4:30 pm for performances of The Tempest. The gardens will be closed all day on Saturday 24 February for the matinee and evening performances and will re-open on Sunday at 8.00am. Cooks Gardens has reopened this morning. A piece of flashing on the Whiskas Grandstand roof was starting to lift in the heavy winds last night. An assessment was arranged first thing this morning and we’ve organised a contractor to secure it. We're good to go!
