STORM UPDATE - POWER AND ROADING *Power* Power has been restored to some areas, but parts of Virginia Road, St Johns Hill, Westmere and Aramoho are still without power. Residents in Great North Road may also be affected due to a tree going through the powerlines. If your power is out, contact your electricity supplier for information. *Roading* Whanganui District Council crews are checking urban and rural roads in our district and we'll keep you up-to-date as they report back. - Fallen trees

🌞🌞You really get the feeling that summer is just waiting in the wings once daylight saving starts!! It snuck up on me this year - it's THIS WEEKEND!! 😲 So, don't forget to TURN YOUR CLOCKS FORWARD 1 HOUR at bedtime on SATURDAY, SEPT 23 (or 2am SUNDAY, SEPT 24) - or else you'll be an hour late for work on Monday - and that would be very uncool ;) #Wanganui #Whanganui #OurBeautifulPlace #DaylightSaving

Local photographer Ken Graham, President of Whanganui Camera Club, recently travelled to Japan and visited our Sister City, Nagaizumi-cho. With his camera Ken captured the amazing cultural diversity of Japan. His work will be on show upstairs at Element Cafe, 26 Victoria Avenue, over the weekends of 7/8 and 14/15 October - well worth a look!
